Private Instruction

If you are a beginner or already have experience in glass fusing, and want to learn a new technique or hone your skills, private instruction is offered at The Glass Underground. You can choose to learn about fusing, slumping, dropping or draping glass. Instruction in frits and powders, using stringers and rods and other glass media is also offered. Finally, all aspects of cold working can be explored. It's all up to you!

If you have prior glass fusing experience, private instruction can be mixed with open studio rental.

Private instruction is offered in one-hour increments or in a package.* One hour of instruction is $150 and is lecture only. It does not include a project. There is an 8 hour minimum for project instruction.

*Beginners will need at least 3 hours to get a foundation. 10 hours required for Open Studio participation and is the equivalent of our Introductory Workshop. Glass and materials are not included in the price.

Private instruction is taught by Meryl Raiffe. She holds a B.A. in Fine Arts and has been formally trained in glass fusing by over a dozen glass artists in all aspects of warm and cold glass work. The Glass Underground is a Bullseye Glass Preferred Partner Resource Center.
