In this workshop, students will explore simple mold-making techniques for relief casting. You will also create custom-fused glass billets, which allow for controlled color placement in the final cast!
Amazingly enough, paper and cardboard will be used to create a series of small collage blocks using a range of approaches, from clean geometric to highly textured, or even pictorial components. These will then be molded in silicone, and finally in plaster.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn Georgia’s modular approach, where smaller units come together to create larger components. You will complete your own modular panel, plus a selection of collage blocks and molds, which can be used to develop a much larger body of work in your own studio!
This workshop will give you the opportunity to delve into glass color mixing and relief casting.
All glass and materials are included. Either bring lunch, or we will order out and pick up for you!
